The Mission of James Herrick Architect, LLC is to design great buildings and interiors that work for the client in form, function, and finance. These designs are also responsive to the communities in which they are placed.

Founded in 1991, we have provided design services for hundreds of projects: large and small, residential, commercial, and municipal in Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Texas. The firm has grown from a one man office drawing solely by hand in 1991 to a five person-strong synergistic team.

Presentations We provide full service design and drafting services to effectively demonstrate site and building design. We are very experienced and skilled in project presentation to Town Boards and City Councils
when called for. Our state of the art computer assisted design program can produce renderings placing the proposed structure into a digitally-mastered photograph of the site when the client needs this service. CAD-drafted sheets and Jay’s beautiful hand-drawn designs
also provide very effective project demonstration.

Collaboration Complex projects sometimes call for engineering or other support. We are pleased to have wonderful working relationships with some of the best firms in Maine including Lincoln-Haney structural engineers, Sitelines civil engineering, S.W. Cole geotechnical engineering, Bartlett Electric, Lowell Specifications, and Tom Connelie, Clerk of the Works. We are happy to work with consultants of your choice as well.

The Firm is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Maine AIA. James Herrick is a Registered Architect, NCARB (National Council of Architectural Record Boards) Certified and a CSI-certified Construction Documents Technologist.
